A variety of products and trades in all price categories, short distances to the shops, perfect service and assistance – that’s what the shopping city Rosenheim stands for.
Strolling around, shopping and enjoying the beauty of our city centre. Very particular specialist shops can be discovered in the quarters off the pedestrian area.
Shopping and Enjoying Go Hand In Hand
The variety of gastronomic treats such as international restaurants, rustic Bavarian inns, comfortable coffee shops and trendy bars invite you to stay and feast. Especially in the summer months the places in the sun in the historic ambience of the impressing facades on Ludwigsplatz or Max-Josefs-Platz as well as in the small pubs off the main streets quickly fill with people.
As everything is within walking distance, strolling around in the Rosenheim city centre is very attractive. 20 parking garages and parking grounds offering more than 3000 parking spaces or the free parking spaces on Loretowiese are very close to the city centre. You may inform yourself on free parking spaces here. Now nothing stands in the way of having a wonderful shopping experience. Even going there by bus from all directions is ensured.
From the historic centre with the charming old Färberviertel (dyers’ quarter), from the pedestrian area to Münchener Strasse, the visitor may enjoy modernity and individuality, but above all the unique flair of our city. About 350 shops in the city centre ranging from tiny specialist shops to diversified stores offer a wide selection.

In the very centre of the city you may relax and take a deep breath in the two municipal gardens. “Salingarten” is decorated with sculptures and “Riedergarten” offers rose and herb gardens as well as a fantastic playground for children.
How about a quick stop in Rosenheim’s cultural world? The Municipal Museum (Städtisches Museum) in the last remaining city gate, or the Museum of Wood Technology (Holztechnisches Museum) with the longest stairway to heaven right in the city centre is just as worth a visit as the supra-regionally known Lokschuppen with its thematic exhibitions or the Municipal Gallery (Städtisches Galerie).
Each quarter has its individual charme and charisma.
The city centre has many different faces. Whereas the eastern old city has a small-scale structure and gives you a feeling for the history of the old city of Rosenheim, plain architecture is predominant in Münchener Strasse. The Esbaum quarter stands for individuality, hardly any other quarter has such a pleasant atmosphere of neighbourliness. The Salin Square however, convinces with its colourful facades and its Italian flair.
Somehow each square is unique. The best way to experience the city is a walk along the information signs for individual tours of the city. There is much more to discover than what you may think.
